Aug 31/13 - Strong vinyl record sales

Vinyl record sales during the summer usually slow down with most people wanting portability for the car, beach etc but this year has been an exception. Vinyl has been constantly moving here with collections coming in almost every day. Sales have been brisk and with the amount of re-issues being made available, some titles are seeing the light of day for the first time in nearly 50 years. I  never thought I would see obscure and hard to find artists like Nick Drake or Bill Withers to name a couple, ever being re-issued, let alone on record !

Of course the bigger artists are well represented in the new vinyl as well with Beatles, Neil Young, Miles Davis, Pink Floyd all getting the "deluxe" treatment. Just be careful that they aren't digitally re-mastered and if they are, check out reviews before buying them as some sound just terrible !

As mentioned above, the store has been real busy this summer ( which is great) but I'm getting a bit frazzled. This coming weekend on Sept. 6,7 & 8 we'll be closing down the store and doing the cd tent in Port Credit's 15th annual Southside Shuffle Blues festival. Along with cds, we'll bring T-shirts, mini guitars and weather permitting, our selection of blues vinyl. With admission only $5 a day, it's an affordable way to get some great live music. Stop by and say Hi.

The store will be closed from Sept 9 through to the 26th and we're taking a well deserved vacation going over the pond to Ireland. You can be assured that I'll be checking out as many record stores and collections as possible and hopefully coming back with loads of import vinyl records.

Thanks to all that read & visit the site/store. Hopefully I'll see ya when we get back.
