Dec 15/14 - New and Re-issue vinyl records

It’s been way too long since the last blog but things at the store have been a little bit crazy with all of the “new” vinyl coming in. By “new” I mean re-issues of classic titles and actual new releases. Used collections have flooded the basement floor, waiting to get cleaned and quality checked ( played). Just not enough time in a day. Work extra hours you say, well I am supposed to have a life aren’t I?

Some of the notable new releases on vinyl are by U2, Sam Smith, Annie Lennox, AC/DC and my best seller, Pink Floyd “Endless River” As always, the record labels don’t give play copies to help me promote their releases but I cracked open the Floyd lp and I love it ! The songs are from the Division Bell sessions and feature the late Richard Wright on keyboards. Highly recommended !!! With Christmas around the corner, the usual suspects are re-issuing lps including, Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and my fave fab four, the Beatles. What’s interesting is the “Red & Blue” hits packages are “All Analogue Master From the Master Tapes”. Weird,  since all of the previous pressings from the last few years were digitally re-mastered !!! Obscure and rare titles are popping up as well including lps by German band Can ( never had an original in 25 years of selling vinyl), Caravan, Camel and too many to mention.

At this time of year Yvonne and I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Please be safe and enjoy the holidays. Be charitable, donate to the food bank or Sally Ann, Goodwill or a local toy drive.  There are many out there in need and we all should “do our part” to help.

Peace, love and happy listening !
